Alongside the summer tees, and the other items dropping this week- Supreme is dropping four graphic tees in homage to the late Wilfred Limonious.
Wilfred Limonious was an iconic Jamaican illustrator and designer – who is now known as the father of ‘dancehall art’. Born in Trelawny Parish in northwest Jamaica, Wilfred began his career in 1970 working for The Star newspaper and then working for JAMAL (Jamaican Movement for the Advancement of Literacy) as illustrator, before moving on to impact the Jamaican music industry. During his long and very successful career, Limonious designed hundreds of album covers and record label logos, for the likes of House, Studio One and Techniques.
After working with the Limonious Estate and One Love Group on it’s newest collection, Supreme will drop this group of t-shirts on Thursday – all featuring original artwork from Wilfred Limonious.
This new collab will drop alongside four new summer T-shirts this Thursday, June 29, online and at Supreme’s New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris locations before hitting Japan on July 1.
